To Forget Why – by Edward Lee

The cat among the pigeons has a name it couldn’t remember, but was sure the birds knew, its syllables hidden in their cooing, their darting heads lost in their own searching of their own names, unfound in the detritus on the ground, their beaks pecking, barely seeing the cat let alone hearing his pleading to find meaning in its forgotten name.

Edward Lee’s poetry, short stories, non-fiction and photography have been published in magazines in Ireland, England and America, including The Stinging Fly, Skylight 47, Acumen, The Blue Nib and Poetry Wales. His poetry colections include A Foetal Heart, Bones Speaking With Hard Tongues, To Touch The Sky And Never Know The Ground Again and The Heart As Dust Lost In The Wind. He also makes musical noise.
