Morning Light – by Victoria Wiswell-Mabe

The dirty light of morning
seeps through my bedroom window
creeping in
from the
very bottom of the night

I kick my way to the outskirts of my sheets,
seeking comfort where the cotton is cold,
eager for the asylum of ice,
the crisp reminder,
of something new.
