May 6, 988 – William Allegrezza, Garin Cycholl, Kirk Robinson

Bjorn among the Mayans

we set our meal-fires
on the shores of the great island
thirty days
straight thrown by the winds

here the darkened faces surround
us here the curious are curious as we.

bjorn says we can rule, but
i dream of cold rain over thatch,
of my brown-haired wife, of a my
boy learning to walk
and know i must leave.
