Lyrical – by Robin Wright

the name chosen
for the boy
with mocha skin,
deep dark eyes.
His parents knew
at first glance the joy
he held in his heart.
An adjective able
to spread laughter
and smiles, turning nouns
into musical retreats.
Born his father’s poem,
his mother’s song.
