you’re building legos
hands comically large
for the plastic pieces
yet your fingers remain nimble
as you filter through the bricks
like you flit through my brain –
sporadically, and with intention
you assemble general quaritch
because he is your personal avatar
strong shoulders wrapped in army
green camouflage that compliments
your mossy eyes
that are searching for a very
specific piece and suddenly
you’re looking to me and
your eyebrows lift upon seeing
my preexisting gaze
and then you smile
the piece forgotten
as you lean your lips to mine
