He’ll Tell the Chicas in Biology Cuz That’s Where We Learn About Bones – by Brian Dickson

We see Jurassic Park at the Zia Theater after basketball practice. Near the end a velociraptor rips through some cables and we jump back. “See, asshole,” I tell Alfredo. “Even six footers can kill in a minute. I bet you don’t even know the famous ones I have at my house.”

When he sees my wooden dinosaurs, he belly laughs, says he’ll tell the chicas in biology cuz that’s where we learn about bones and shit. The next day he whispers to Trisha before we walk into class and she grins at me. “Relax, bro,” he says as we sit down. “She can’t wait for you to teach her about triceratops’ horns.”

The varsity football coach, Tucker Johnson strolls in, spits in his chaw cup, shouts, “Turn to chapter nine about organs. Read it, do the questions at the end, and turn them in.” He plops at his desk and flips through a Sports Illustrated.
