-a tanka

A single snowflake
descended on my windshield.
I studied its white,
crystalline structure until
the wipers whisked it away.

Renee Szostek’s haiku appeared in the Seven Hills Review in 2022 and 2021.  The Arts at Michigan Arts Info newsletter selected three of her haiku as “Haiku of the Week” in 2020, and one in 2021.  The Moonstone Press published her poems in some of its anthologies.  Her poems won Third Place in the Westminster Art Festival in 2020 and 2021.
