A Little Haven – by Sandi Stromberg

Your house follows
in your feeble
footsteps. She is

animate, too.
Her foundation
shifts, hinges creak

like knees and hips.
No need to rue
her humdrum looks.

You reroof, sod
her yard. At dusk,
her doors will lock.
